Jared Werner is a Russian-born, Chicagoland-based artist and filmmaker working towards an undergraduate degree in Studio Art and Political Science with a Pre-Law focus at Carthage College. Their work blends traditional media like oil painting, charcoal, and ceramics with experimental film, new media, and graphic design. Their diverse portfolio has been constructed with a deeper meaning surrounding the work, sometimes quite upfront, and with other works more interpretive. The goal is to promote discourse and raise questions among viewers using visual and contextual lenses to uncover the broader political, personal, popular culture, and historical frameworks.
